Twilight is a 9 year old spayed momma who came into rescue from a Kentucky puppy mill. Twilight is learning ever so slowly a different lifestyle from that of kennel life.
Although she can be overwhelmed and confused by all this newness, she is learning. Twilight now will allow her foster parents to leash her and go for a walk. At the beginning of her walk, she may pull a bit but once she gets going she finds her rhythm, relaxes, and then enjoys the stroll.
Twilight now enjoys the comfort and safety of an armchair, her crate and her “spot” in the corner of the dining room. She needs reassurance that she is safe and can choose to go to these places as well as anywhere else in the house.
Twilight shares her foster home with the foster parents and 2 dogs. She is indifferent to the resident dogs so far. She isn’t bothered by them but also doesn’t really seek out play either.
Consistent strides are being made in housebreaking. She does best when she is walked to eliminate.
Foster parents have learned that Twilight prefers to eat in her covered crate and when the house is quiet. She has yet to learn that treats really are great.
Twilight is a shy, cautious, sweet girl who is learning to trust the 2 legged creatures in this world. While she doesn’tseek out attention or affection, she tolerates an occasional chin rub and ear massage. Twilight prefers the attention of her foster dad as she is still a bit leery of her foster mom. The quieter the environment, the more assured she becomes.
We believe Twilight needs a patient adopter who is experienced in a puppy mill rescue. While she is in foster in a home without a fence, we feel she would be best with a fenced yard as she is a potential flight risk and is still skittish. Twilight is a beautiful, sweet, petite work in progress!
