Oreo is a 3 1/2 month old male basset hound mix. Since he was a stray, we are not certain on what breed he is mixed with, but it is believed to be beagle. He came to us from Kentucky. He weighs around 15 pounds. Oreo loves both men and women. He is being fostered with older kids ages 16 and 12. He has also been around the foster family’s 8 month old nephew. He is being fostered with another dog and four cats. He is being fostered with a guinea pig as well.
If we don’t see Oreo or hear the jingle of his tags or thumping of his paws on the floor, he can always be found laying in front of a heat register. Oreo loves to walk up and sit in front of us so we pet him. He loves playing with dog toys, but isn’t too hyper.
Oreo is working hard on potty training. He has really surprised his foster parents as he has learned quickly not to have accidents in his crate. Oreo doesn’t mind getting bathed or getting his nails trimmed by his foster mom.
Oreo will be adopted out on a neuter contract, since his testicles have not descended yet. The owner will be responsible for getting him neutered. A home check is required prior to adoption as well as a good veterinarian reference. We prefer that he goes to a home with a physically fenced in yard. Oreo’s adoption fee is $350. There is a $100 deposit check also (will be cashed) required. This will be refunded after proof of neuter is received within 6 months of adoption. We do not transport puppies. Oreo is being fostered in Getzville, NY.
