Bentley was an owner surrender in Kentucky. Bentley’s family never gave him the proper time he needed as a puppy and has resulted in some bad manners and counter surfing. Bentley is good with most dogs, but would be better with a more submissive dog as Bentley loves to play. He also loves toys. In typical basset fashion, Bentley is a counter surfer so food items would need to be kept toward the back of the counter. We would prefer Bentley have a home with older children as he jumps up and could knock over a small child.
Bentley is housetrained, crate trained, and leash trained. He does pull a bit, when walking on a leash. A harness is recommended with Bentley. Bentley is being fostered with one other dog, at this time. He is a sweet boy that loves toys and to play. He is eager to learn and obey. He is working on learning basic commands. He is a curious boy, but is not destructive by any means. His foster home is working on his counter surfing. He is not jumping up at his foster home, as he reportedly was doing in his last home. He likes to lick ankles and legs as his way of greeting instead. He rides well in the car in a crate. He is just an all around sweet boy.
