Name: Jim Bob the Bloodhound
Age: 3 years
Adoption fee: $350 (pre-paid by a donor)
Foster location: Fulton NY
Jim Bob was found as a stray in Arkansas. He was 30lbs underweight! The all-breed rescue he was at reached out to a hound rescue who could better help find his forever home.
Jim Bob is a big lovable goofy boy. His foster family is working on doggie manners and teaching him “personal space”. Jim Bob just had a dental done and several teeth removed. He also had some fatty lumps removed.
He needs a home with an experienced owner. He does weigh 100 lbs!

Loves playing fetch, bonus if it’s a squeeky ball

Knows how to sit and is potty trained

He is a cuddle bug, and will steal all the room you have on your bed.

Sits nicely when he gets fed and takes treats nicely. But will definitely beg when you are eating food.

He does not do well in a crate, so a sectioned off area is best. He hasn’t been destructive at all, he is just a crate escape artist!

Super easy going. He will stay in and watch movies with you or he will run a marathon. He will do whatever you want and become your shadow!

Loves car rides!

Has shown some signs of being leash reactive. He’s done well meeting other dogs in a fenced in area off leash.

Would do best in a home with smaller dogs or as an only dog. He’s done well with my 60 lb dog, but isn’t the biggest fan of my dog that is bigger than him.

He needs an experienced owner, who can handle a big dog. He needs someone who is willing to be patient with him as he gets scared going to new places.

He JUMPS on people when he first meets them, so small children in the home may not be ideal.

The nose controls him, so he does pull a bit on the leash.

Jim Bob is overall the sweetest boy once he feels comfortable around you. He needs time to decompress and build trust! He was a stray in Arkansas and has been bounced around, so I believe he struggles a bit to realize he’s safe.

He has acted differently in every home, so if you’re interested in him, but maybe have a bigger dog/don’t check all the boxes, it wouldn’t hurt to at least meet him
