Gus

name: Gus
age: 5 years old

dogs: yes
cats: unknown
kids: yes
adoption fee: $325
foster location: Tonawanda, NY

Gus seems almost completely comfortable at his foster home, occasionally still looking for his sisters. He’s friendly, seems to like everyone he meets. No aggression towards anyone; no nipping, biting, or growling. Doesn’t seem interested in other dogs he sees walking by, just wants to sniff after they pass. Gus has not met any cats yet. Gus walks ok on a leash, typical basset behavior, only goes where he wants to go. Seems to enjoy going for short walks, lots of sniffs. Gus is completely housebroken, no accidents. He seems to know to go to the back door or to come find you to go out. No food guarding, you can put your hand on him while eating and he’s not bothered at all. Will finish at least a partial bowl in the morning and closer to a full bowl at night. Gus doesn’t really seem interested in playing with toys, he’ll occasionally chase a ball when you throw it, but doesn’t bring it back! He doesn’t mind having his ears cleaned or a bath. He goes into his crate during the day if no one is home. At night, Gus sleeps in his dog bed on the floor of the bedroom with the door closed so he can’t wander. Gus loves to climb onto your lap on the couch, the chair, the floor. He loves to be on people or touching them. He’s super cuddly, loves his people, would be a great pup to binge watch some Netflix!
