Dora is a spayed, female basset hound that was born on 7/26/17. She is a puppy mill release. She is being fostered with another dog. We are uncertain how she is with cats or kids, since she isn’t being fostered with either. Dora will need another canine companion in the home and a fenced in yard, due to being a puppy mill dog. She is being fostered in Burt, NY.
Dora loves attention, belly rubs, and to sit right next to her people on the couch. Dora is working on her house training in her foster home and is starting to show progress. Dora is kept in a crate at night and when her foster parents are gone to work. Dora is not a fan of a crate, with her past, so her foster parents are working on showing her the crate is a safe place. It took Dora some time to warm up to her foster K9 sibling, but now they play with toys together and Dora even gets along with the neighbor’s two dogs. Dora walk well on a leash and has only pulled when she has seen a squirrel. Dora is getting used to living in a home and doesn’t like her foster family far away. She will whine if they leave the room or the house. Dora was great for her bath, nail trim, and getting her ears cleaned. Dora is a very loving girl.
All basset hound/dogs are up to date on vaccinations, altered, and placed on heart worm preventative prior to being adopted.
