This morning, Dolly, who was a pregnant puppy mill survivor from MO and was also sold at a livestock auction was taken to the vet with a decreased appetite & being lethargic. She was examined and diagnosed with Pyometra. As this is a life-threatening diagnosis she had emergent surgery to remove her uterus. Tonight we are happy to report that the surgery went well and she is stable in recovery. Dolly will be staying overnight at the office to receive IV fluids and to keep an eye on her vitals. Her puppies have been eating food on their own and are doing well also.
Please say an extra prayer tonight for Dolly and if you would like to donate to her emergency surgery donations can be made at https://nybasset.org/
