Chico is a 3 year old neutered, Beagle/Basset hound mix that came into ABC from Kentucky. Chico came in with unresolved allergies. He was allergy tested and has made significant improvements with limited ingredient food and medicine, since in foster care. Chico needs a Cytopoint injection every 6 weeks, he takes Benedryl and Prednisone and requires a special ingredient dog food. Chico comes with a wealth of information and supplies to help him lead a successful life. Chico requires another dog in the home to keep him company. Chico is being fostered in West Seneca, NY.
Chico is an energetic dog who loves to play fetch and with his dog foster brothers. Chico is good for baths, nail trims, ear cleanings, car rides, and teeth brushing. Chico is house trained and crate trained and does best in the crate when his foster family is not home. Chico loves people and snuggles right up next to you. Chico does initially bark at cats, but with a little warming up he will ignore them. Chico is great with children and adults. However, I would recommend he be in a home with older children who are less likely to drop food on the floor that he could grab quickly and cause problems with his allergies. He loves going for walks, will greet you enthusiastically when you come home, and be your protector. Chico is eagerly awaiting his forever home with lots of love and kisses.
All basset hound/dogs are up to date on vaccinations, altered, and placed on heart worm preventative prior to being adopted.
