Rusty is a sweet boy who has been through a lot and is learning how good life can be. He’s currently heartworm positive and undergoing treatment and will need to be neutered afterward.
He’s working on potty training and leash walking and does well with dogs, kids, and cats. Rusty seems to prefer women and can be a bit skittish around men, but with patience he continues to gain confidence.
Rusty would be best in a home where adopters are home much of the time because he does currently exhibit separation anxiety. We are hopeful that this will improve over time and with your patience.
Once he feels safe, Rusty loves belly rubs and gentle pets. He’s looking for a calm, understanding home where he can continue to heal and thrive. 🐶❤️

The veterinarian check will include verifying the applicant’s past/present dog(s) is/are altered (spayed/neutered), current on vaccines (not just Rabies), tested negative for Heartworm & on monthly preventatives.
